Safety Testing

Safety is an integral part of creating fun and challenging play structures and tree houses. For all our public playgrounds, Barbara and the team make sure everything is up to the ASTM F1487-21 Standards for Public Use Playground Equipment and ADA Accessibility Guidelines.

The team takes precise measurements in the shop to ensure that the angle of the slide is correct before installing on-site.

Sometimes safety testing also includes a simulation of how the play element will be used. In the case of this fully accessible sway bridge, we use a wheelchair to cross the bridge at a variety of speeds to see how it responds.

Careful observation and measurements give us the information we need.
