Cape Codder Refresh
Would you believe this Cape Codder playhouse is 25 years old!? Regular maintenance over the years has kept this little gem of a play structure in tip-top shape through one generation, and hopefully onto the next!
We built this Cape Codder playhouse in 2000 for family with young kids. They moved a few years later and we relocated the structure for them, adding the bridge with swings. Every few years we have visited to maintain the structure. Last year we did a full maintenance, repair and re-stain of the entire structure.

Regular safety checks with maintenance has been a key factor in keeping this playhouse in great condition. Our custom play structures are built to last generations with regular maintenance and a little TLC. Safety checks will ensure that bolts are tight, broken parts are removed or replaced and potential hazards are found. After that, a thorough cleaning and an application of our Clear Tung-Oil Solution will keep the structure looking great for years!
Eventually, through repeated cleaning and weathering, the stain will start to fade. Many of our play structure owners like the look of the faded stains, it give the structure a rustic look. If that isn’t your style, we can restain the structure for you, or you can buy the stains from us and have a fun weekend project restaining yourself.
The owners of this playhouse are hoping the fresh restain encourages their grown up children to add grandchildren to the family.
When our crew performs the maintenance and restain, they will remove the structure trim pieces. This enables them to thoroughly clean the cracks and crevices and also speeds up the restaining process. The crew took this play structure apart as much as possible to ensure that the restain would last for many years to come.
This playhouse is looking bright and shiny now! Ready for the next generation of adventurers to play on it.
