Attached to the back of the Dodecagon, a 4' x 4' x 12' high enclosed "Ladder Tower" (16 SQ FT) with single layered T&G Shed roof and interior series of 3 platforms & rung ladders providing access between levels.
10' long Swinging Bridge with 36" high hand-woven Rope Net Railings, bridging the distance between the 2nd story of the Dodecagon Tower and the Gatehouse.
3' wide x 10' long x 11' high 2-story Gatehouse (30 SQ FT with 7' deck height) with:
- Faux drawbridge connecting from an earthberm (earthberm not included);
- Twin Castle Rook Towers deep crenellations and matching "Fleur de Lis" coat of arms flanking a sliding, iron Portcullis Gate with lock & keys.

The entrance to Castle Court is a dramatic Gatehouse with faux drawbridge leading up to a lockable portcullis gate set between twin towers with matching "Fleur de Lis" coat of arms. A 10’ long Swinging Bridge with hand-woven rope net railings connects the Gatehouse to the upper level of an imposing, medieval 18' high Dodecagon Tower with secret staircase! The tree-filled courtyard between the Gatehouse and the Dodecagon Tower is enclosed with 52' of 5' high Bailey fencing with secret entrance. This authentic fortress stronghold is well hidden deep inside a grove of trees.

The 9-year old requested a “bailey” - an outer wall around the castle that creates a private courtyard. The tree-filled courtyard is entered through the gatehouse or there’s a secret entrance in the fence.

From this angle, you can just make out the swinging bridge extending from the back of the gatehouse on its way across the courtyard to the dodecagon tower.

The dodecagon tower is a 10-sided clubhouse with 2 stories. It offers views in every direction which kids appreciate when on the lookout for enemy attacks.

Inside the dodecagon tower are two built-in bunk beds beside a door with a "who-goes-there" peephole to keep unwanted guests out of the royal chambers.

A sketch is a good place to test out different color combinations until the perfect palette reveals itself. Shown here are gray brown, moss and black olive.

All play structures are made from redwood lumber, construction heart grade or better, grinded smooth and then stained completely inside and out with non-toxic, tung oil stains and finished with clear tung oil as a top coat (unless otherwise specified).
