Color Burst

Color Burst is a festive structure we delivered as a Christmas gift in 2020. With four kids in the family, each one chose a color and Barbara combined them into this playful palette. With three swings under a bridge, a two-story playhouse, tunnel slide, rope net climb and fire pole, there’s plenty here to keep all the siblings occupied.

After staining each component of the structure in the BBAB shop with our signature eco-friendly tung oil, we assemble the entire thing as a test fit.

Rounded knobs on the shutters and a 1/2″ gap around the edge ensure no pinched fingers for the little ones so they can open and close to their heart’s content. Here, Henry carefully adds each knob by hand.

Professional rock-climbing holds offer yet another way to scale the structure. Jose Luis distributes them at just the right intervals for young climbers to reach.

A mailbox and who-goes-there peephole mounted in the door are always a hit. Here, Jose attaches the door stop with magnets.
