Mindfully designed, these cozy, safe spaces allow anyone to retreat from the frenetic, sensory whirlwinds of the playground, and empowers them to re-emerge when and if they choose. Magical Bridge Retreat Huts provide havens for those who need breaks.

The retreat huts will be small and cozy, yet large enough for someone in a wheelchair to roll in and turn around. The retreat hut will be designed to allow for plenty of visibility — for both looking out and looking in. Slatted wood and cut-outs in the panels will allow light to create patterns on the inside and plenty of visibility.

Redwood from sustainable well-managed forests is our main building material: it is naturally rot resistant, extremely strong structurally, yet soft and with a natural beauty that can last for generations. Redwood that is well-crafted, carved and stained will bring warmth and a sense of safety to the small retreat huts. The huts will be designed to reflect the design of the Magical Bridge Playhouse and Stage.
