Located in City of San Juan Capistrano’s Los Rios Historic Park, this play structure was designed by Barbara to complement the area’s historic buildings and park setting.
This beautiful play structure has two slide towers connected by a swinging bridge with hand-woven rope net railings. The upper redwood railing of the bridge is curved to mirror the swag of the bridge walkway.
The rectangular tower (5’ by 6’6”) is topped by a double-layered "tree-stake" gable roof with mission-style cupola, and includes picket railings, rung ladder, commercial grade triple open slide and ADA handicap accessible "L-shaped" transfer system.
The rugged stand-alone swing sets were custom designed and built to match the play structure. Made from metal sunk in concrete and faced with redwood lumber, these swings offer a sturdy, fun ride.
The swinging bridge is a fun entrance to the upper level of the Ttiple slide tower.
The upper level of the rectangular tower is an intricate pattern of rungs, pickets and railings. The roof’s carved corner braces add to the charming, rustic feel.
A 3' x 4' transition platform with picket railing connects the square tower to the commercial grade open spiral "cobra soil" slide - a fun complement to the metal spiral coil climber.
With so many play options, this structure has something for everyone, keeping kids of all ages engaged and happy.
The 6' x 6' square tower has a double-layered "tree-stake" gable roof with historic wagon wheel motif.
Designed in close collaboration with local stakeholders, Barbara’s artist sketch provides a detailed look at the planned structure.
