Camp Moonrise

Camp Moonrise is our take on the boys’ camp in the 2012 movie Moonrise Kingdom, directed by Wes Anderson and a family favorite of our clients. We worked with the family to create this artist sketch with a color palette that is reminiscent of the the film’s tents and uniforms.

And here it is in all its three dimensional glory! Extending from either side of a raised playhouse you’ll find an assortment of play options, including a rope net climb, twisty tube slide, ship’s wheel, swings, and hanging rungs.

At one end, a climbing wall with professional grade rock holds spread at child-size intervals presents an irresistible challenge. For an extra challenge, try to reach the summit using the knotted rope instead. Finally, celebrate your achievement with an exhilarating descent down the fire pole.

The playhouse itself also welcome youngsters into a world of imagination, beginning with the door knocker and who-goes-there peephole. Waterproof roof shingles and various skylights let in the light and keep out the weather.

Inside, movable shutters let in as much or as little of the breeze as you choose and drop-leaf table and benches let you fold them flat against the wall for a different configuration.

Every camp needs a Top Secret Safe for storing any treasure that was found and Camp Moonrise is outfitted with a sturdy wooden one with a real combination lock.

Camp Moonrise is ready to celebrate any milestone — including Hank’s birthday!
